ralph lauren "cross atlantic voyage" luxury
shoot document - british vogue
THEME/LOCATION & SET
the theme of my shoot is a cross-atlantic voyage on a yacht. the guests are en-route to a wedding or restaurant opening - something exclusive where black tie attire is required.
the shoot will be at dock and from a low angle, in order to make the models/guests look confident, powerful, but still ethereal. when the guests have arrived to the event, they'll be dressed to the nines in ralph lauren. ralph lauren has used nautical aesthetics in campaigns and collections in the past, so this shoot be aligned with the brand.
photography
i chose julia noni as the photographer for the shoot because her portfolio includes photographs taken outdoors where models look glamorous but not overly artificial or engineered. the lighting in julia noni's photography is also very soft, which is aligned to the vision of vintage, titanic-y, modern voyage.
styling
I will be using 5 high-end looks from ralph lauren's SPring '23 rtw collection. these dresses and suits are perfect for a glamorous wedding that the passengers are traveling to. these looks are elegant in a muted way, which fits with the theme of the shoot. the styling anders thomsen has done is simple but elegant and has editorial elements even if it's a commercial shot, which a shoot for british vogue would be.
hair & makeup
for hair, i have chosen david harborow. i'd like to create soft waves and relaxed blowouts that are still formal and chic. i'd like the hair to be simple and not overdo the styling or set/location.
For makeup, i've chosen erin parsons from streeters. I would like the makeup, like the hair, to be glam
